I was blessed and had the privilege to take my son Liam to freshman move in day yesterday. It was exciting to say the least. I could see the apprehension all over him, the school was a mad house, parents and new students everywhere. I watched and took it all in. This was going to be the only freshman move in day that my son Liam will ever have. I laughed and watched and took it all in.
I am so very grateful today that I had the support I needed to get and stay sober because without that freshman move in day would not have been the experience it was. I am grateful that I was able to be there with his brother Seamus and his mom and allow it to be all about Liam. He is a great kid and is loved by all who meets him. I watched him with awe as he took it in and set up his room and interacted with his room mates. It was awesome! Love is what makes the world go round. Recovery allows me to love, be loved and live by a loving example.
