Everyday is a new day, every hour is a new hour. In recovery we learn that we have the option to start over at any time of day or night. We are not perfect in fact we do not seek perfection we seek progress. Each day we renew our commitment to God, to others and to ourselves to be the best we can possibly be. We ask God for what we can do to help serve others and we ask to remain within the will of God on a daily basis.
I can report that after more than 23 years perfection has alluded me. I make mistakes, I make choices that are not always the smartest choices and I fail at times. Yet, the one choice that I do not fail to make is simple, I will keep on moving forward, stay sober and never, ever, ever take myself too seriously! Life is goooood!
