Each and everyone of us want to know the “Why”! It is a natural phenomena that occurs in us. We want to know why we are here? Why did this happen? We want to know the meaning of life, we want to make sense of it all. All of these questions and more are part of the natural process of being human! I often ask a simple question of folks “how many people here want to be happy?” I can not remember anyone not putting their hand up! We all want happiness in our lives. We all crave joy!
So what are we craving? The answer lies in both the meaning of life and happiness! We want to make sense of life and be happy. When we feel content with these questions we can experience joy. When we are living in confusion and unpredictability we can not experience joy. When I think about my recovery foundation in the twelve step fellowship I belong to I get the chills. They truly loved me back to health. They allowed me to find God again, the funny thing is I found God right where He always was, right along side of me.
Today when I get confused I turn to God. When I face challenges I turn to God. When I need advice I pray to God for answers, that are always revealed to me through the people in my life, recovered people! Life is sooooooooo good! Last night I was asked if I could have ever imagined I would be where I am now when it all began over twenty years ago? My answer is “NO” cause it is better than I ever imagined! I thank God for the miracle that enabled me to persevere and not quit! Through it all I have learned to trust!
