“When I hear somebody sigh, ‘Life is hard,’ I am always tempted to ask, ‘Compared to what?'” — Sydney J. Harris
Without recovery the “what” is a terrible alternative! What exactly is the what? Homeless, prisoner of the department of corrections, failure, or possibly death. Each of us has our personal stories of where we were heading. One thing became clear to me in my mid-twenties, it was not going to be death. I was sentenced to a life of despair. My greatest fear was to walk around alone, unproductive heading towards a wet brain! I remembered the trips to the State hospitals and the VA hospital. I remembered seeing these men talking to themselves. I remember my uncle telling me that they drank too much torpedo juice!

Go, Go, Go…
