“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.”
– Dale Carnegie
I certainly do not claim to have accomplished anything great for mankind in my lifetime. But I will say that I am a fighter, I simply do not recognize the word “NO”. Ask my parents! If I hit a dead-end I find another way. If it becomes apparent I am banging my head against the wall, I readjust, realign and recommit to the next step. Now this could be hazardous if I am in pursuit of something harmful but in the recovered life it is helpful. We are the most driven people on the face of this earth. When I hear someone tell me they can’t do it, I cringe. I know they can do it and do it well! I know that they have the capacity to be honest, open and persistent. I know that they can tough it out like no one else! As much as they have a low tolerance for pain in the early stages, they can endure like no one else. How do I know this? Through years of being an example, through years of seeing others in my same situation do it as well. I know because I had examples before me! “I Can’t” is really “I Won’t” in disguise. When we recognize that we begin to win!
Go, Go, Go…
