Hi, just thought I would let you know I have not touched a drop for 9 months now 🙂 the emails I get from your website help loads, love reading them. My kids are now very happy to have their mum back, has been bloody hard at times but the closer it gets to a year the more determined I am……. xx
On Friday I received a call from my oldest son Sean. We were set to have dinner that night. He said, “hey dad I was invited to a football combine for the CFL, UFL and AFL. It is up in Jacksonville tomorrow will you go with me?” Of course I said yes, I was on my way to his house so I turned around and grabbed some clothes for an overnight trip.
Tears in my eyes I thanked God for another day in recovery. I know that as a drunk I was unpredictable and could not be relied upon. On the five hour trip he thanked me a few times for going with him! Yet it was an honor and a pleasure for me to be going! When I get messages like above I am happy that I can share my recovery with others. Yet selfishly it is times like Friday I am grateful that I stayed the course and remained sober one day at a time. Life is GOOOOOOOD!!!
