The more we give, the more we get. What is it that we get? Peace, joy, love, serenity, true sobriety. The spiritual principles of recovery are simple yet in action are profound. In order to keep it we must first give it away. The area of the country I live in today amazes me. The recovering community is probably one of the largest in all the world.

There are so many young, clean and sober people here that are willing to give of their time and help others to recover it is amazing. It was kind of culture shock for me at first. Meetings are full of serious motivated people young and old that are willing to sponsor folks, fulfill service commitments, and put out a helping hand when needed.

Sponsorship is taken to a level I have never seen before. There has always been the “Guru” types with “Cliches” in the rooms of recovery but here in South Florida “Sponsor Families” persist. People have sponsors, grand-sponsors, sponsee brothers and sisters, I think you get the picture. It is amazing to me to see how fast someone will take on a newcomer…

It all comes down to we get what we give, we must give it away to keep it. South Florida is giving it away! Life is goooood!!!!
