Our world has changed significantly over the years. With it our attitude and view of life has changed as well. For many people no longer is it acceptable to go get a job that has benefits and retirement, commit to the thirty year plan and retire with a 401K and pension. In fact on average a person will change their careers and or employment 6 times during their life span.
I may have been a little before my time but I remember at 18 when my family wanted to help me get a job with my fathers company. I turned it down. It did not go over too well! I just couldn’t see myself in that grind. I had no clue what I wanted to do but I knew it wasn’t that!
We need to do what drives us. Security is a fallacy today, a company will cut thousands of workers over a poor set of quarters, there is no employer-employee loyalty any longer. What matters is that we use our God given talents to the best of our ability. We do the work that is in alignment with our strengths. This is what gives us the reason to jump out of bed in the morning, this is where our passion lies! Life is goooood!!!
