I don’t think I know a human being on this planet that does not like Muhammad Ali. Yet in the 1970’s at the height of his career I could not say that. But whether it is 2012 or if we were in 1972 Ali was a great man. He was a man that followed his mission and stayed true to his beliefs. Each and everyone of us has that extra ounce of courage deep down inside of us. We simply need to reach down and grab it.
As they say, “Never say Never”… I have learned to always believe in the miracle. If you know me I say two things when it comes to challenges, 1) It always works out and 2) I will figure it out! There is no quit in me although while laying on the canvas after a serious blow to the head it feels that way but quit is not in my vocabulary.
That is recovery in action. When I drank I gave up by giving in. I would cry in my beer until the alcohol took over and then ba-bup-a-daaaaaa, Superdrunk appeared. Nothing mattered anymore, nothing… Well until I came off the run. Nothing changed because I did not do anything differently. The truth is simple if we don’t quit and we dig deep down we will all “Figure it Out”! Life is good…
