“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” – Annie Dillard
September is National Recovery Month and my friend Jack is celebrating his Fiftieth Anniversary in Recovery this month. As amazing as that sounds it is much more than we think! Fifty years ago was 1960, many folks reading this were not yet born! Unfortunately I am not one of them! The amazing thing of it all is not the fact that Jack has remained abstinent for all of those years as much as it is his attitude through the years. Jack’s mantra is simple, “Life is meant to be enjoyed and not to be endured”.

We have a choice abstinence and joy or “grind it out” in abstinence! So what is it that differentiates enjoying life sober and grinding it out? Our attitude! We start with being grateful and we focus on the positive! Always remember your ABC’s of the recovered life.
Always be positive!
Be a student of life!
Cheerlead others!
Focus on what you want, stay positive and go enjoy your life cause Life is GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!
Go, Go, Go…
Dan 🙂
