Life can be funny at times. No matter how long we are at it life has a way to teach us new and renewed lessons. Settling in and expecting life to happen in our favor leaves life to luck or chance. The truth is if we want to be successful in all areas of our lives we must be proactive. We must have and build in disciplines into our daily lives. I must admit that in my recovery I have built in disciplines that work well. They keep me focused and aligned.
Yet in other areas of my life I have built in disciplines and then slowly moved away from them. The great thing about life is that when discomfort rears its ugly head we have the ability to shift strategies and focus or refocus our disciplines to move ahead in the direction we are intentionally sailing. Pain is the spark that lights the fire. Self discipline is the fuel to overcome adversity, God helps those that help themselves!
Life is good!
