Do what we do!

“Once the ‘what’ is decided, the ‘how’ always follows. We must not make the ‘how’ an excuse for not facing and accepting the ‘what.'”
– Pearl S. Buck

We are blessed to have twelve-step programs and other mutual support recovery groups.  The HOW is outlined for us.  Tony Robbins is quoted as saying, “Success leaves clues”.  No where else can you find a greater example of this then in the rooms of twelve-step and other recovery groups.  Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our paths.  This has proven to be factual for me over the years.  The folks that make it are the ones that do what we have done.  Those that do not make it are the ones that buck the system.  Of course there are those less fortunate that are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves, however, I have found throughout the years they are few and far between.

If you want what we have and are willing to go to any lengths to achieve it, you will achieve sobriety.  This is not theory this is reality, this is factual.  Are there challenges in some of the AA, NA or other support groups?  Certainly!  In fact I have witnessed some stuff that I simply shake my head at in disbelief!  Some of us get overly zealous and shift from suggesting to directing.  However, if you want what we have, do what we do.  The great thing about the recovery community is there are tons of meetings every day, you can find forums online, chat rooms, hotlines, and you can find other recovery programs, like SMART Recovery.  If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired then do something different!

Go, Go, Go…
