One of my favorite leaders is General George Patton, he certainly had his flaws but the one thing that sticks out in my mind was his passion for fulfilling his destiny. I believe we all have a destiny in life. We can either go for it hard core or we can ignore it. Many folks ignore their God given drive. That is a mistake. I truly believe that when we settle for less we put ourselves into a position of weakness. For those of us that are afflicted with alcoholism or addiction this is a dangerous area.
Can someone stay clean and sober with the mentality of settling for what life dishes out?
I believe they can, they hide behind a wall of “one day at a time” to the extreme. This concept is a great concept however it does not give you permission to give up! Surely the saying “Easy Does It” is a great one, because patience is the big play in life! But it is “Easy Does It, But DO IT!!!” There is an action word in there! Life is phenomenal when we take the risks associated with our calling. Life is bland when we simply endure the day to day grind.
