A Central Purpose…

There is no hope of success for the person who does not have a central purpose, or definite goal at which to aim.
— Napoleon Hill

Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help others to achieve sobriety.  Alcoholics Anonymous preamble.

For each and everyone of us our purpose lies in service to others.  Whether we provide direct service to a consumer or we are behind the scenes all we do is provide a service for someone.  In our recovered lives one of our spiritual principles is to be there for others.  It helps us to become better human beings, many people say it keeps them sober.

As I teach the ABC’s of the recovered life I watch the room and often see puzzled faces at the letter “C” cheerlead others!  But when it is all said and done lifting people up, offering folks encouragement, kindness, and love is consistent with our purpose and in recovery our primary purpose!  We need to look for ways to improve other peoples lives.  Live on purpose, it’s what makes the world turn!

Go, Go, Go…
