“Well done is better than well said.” Benjamin Franklin
I absolutely have had periods of time when I sounded much better than I acted. People would say to me “wow, Dan you sound so good”! But in reality that is where it ended. We have all experienced the “Ninety-day Wonders” you know them, the guys and gals that come in to the self help group and share how great life is and they have a new job, their wife is back, they bought a new boat and on and on and on they go. They tell you what you are doing wrong and how you too can recover. Well you know the drill, without walking the walk you only hurt yourself talking the talk.
I am not suggesting that people don’t begin to get their lives back in order quickly because I have seen people do it. What I am suggesting is that when we do not have our lives in congruence with what we are saying we are fooling no one but ourselves. Two stepping does not work, the Big Book says, Time after time newcomers have tried to keep to themselves certain facts about their lives. . . . they have turned to easier methods. . . . But they had not learned enough humility. . . . We must walk the walk or we set ourselves up for failure.
Go, Go, Go…
