Rome wasn’t built in a day!

“When you have a great and difficult task, something perhaps almost impossible, if you only work a little at a time, every day a little, suddenly the work will finish itself.”
– Isak Dinesen

Rome wasn’t built in a day.  Many of us in the early days of our recovery process are impossibly impatient.  We want it all and we want it now.  What I have learned over the course of time is work, works!  Nothing good in this world comes for free.  When we work at something the rewards are that much better.  I remember the 90 day wonders that would share how great life is and how they have gotten their lives back together.  They had great jobs, their family was on their side, and other great things that worked to their benefit.

At the time I would think wow what about me?  Why can’t I find work?  My family is in ruins, I don’t have a car, and I am broke!  It didn’t take long to find out that most of those people disappeared.  Things weren’t as good as they made it out to sound.  Over the years many of them have come back after years of use and abuse, none have reported that it got any better for them!

We need to be and stay patient, we need to do the work and live every day to the fullest.

Go, Go, Go…

Dan 🙂
