“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”
– Helen Keller
In life I believe that true happiness, deep inner joy relies on our Spiritual condition. In recovery our inner joy and recovery is based upon our spiritual condition. How do we define spiritual condition? Living our life in congruence with our spiritual principles. When we live outside of those principles we experience turmoil within. When challenges arise, whether they are of our doing, brought on by our actions or simply the results of life in general i.e. the economy, job loss, etc… Our response is really what matters.
Opportunity lies behind every challenge, the key to our present happiness lies in what we do in response to our challenges. Dr. Joe Vitale calls it “Turn it into something good”. Every challenge carries with it the seed to something better. In recovery how we deal with our challenges is the key to living a prudent recovered life, “Happy, Joyous and Free”.
Go, Go, Go…
