“The vision that you glorify in your mind, the ideal that you enthrone in your heart this you will build your life by, and this you will become.” – James Lane Allen
The late Earl Nightingale a man that changed my life for the better due to the principles he taught stated, “We become what we think about most”. When I first heard that I thought well that can not be true I am not a woman! Sorry bad humor… Yet such wisdom lies within those words. I believe we are all born with a desire to succeed. We all have an inner drive to become someone special and to do something special in life. The more we focus on what we want to become the better the chance of the realization of that person emerging from within.
Drug and alcohol addiction, substance abuse stifles our growth emotionally, psychologically, intellectually and spiritually. We stop dreaming of what we want to become and we live lives of quiet (sometimes loud) desperation. Our growth, our vision and our desire lie stagnant and for some of us dead! Recovery allows us to retake our lives from the pits of despair to any height we strive for. Recovery is a great way of life, live life well!
Go, Go, Go…
