Belief

“A person who doubts himself is like a man who would enlist in the ranks of his enemies and bear arms against himself.”  – Alexandre Dumas

The recovered life requires that we begin to think differently.  Typically we start with the belief that we can overcome our demons.  The creature addiction keeps us believing that we “CAN’T” do it!  But the truth is that we can do it “one day at a time”! We need to enlist on the right team, the team that believes, no the team that knows that we can do it!  Will there be some doubt?  Of course.  However, we learn to change directions when we begin to think negatively.  We start to seek the positive route.

As we progress in our recovery we begin to realize that we can stay clean and sober.  Then we begin to face the other negative doubts and messages we have for ourselves.  This is not easy but it can be done.  If you have not listened to Earl Nightingale’s “The Strangest Secret” I highly suggest you do so.  In fact I suggest you listen to it at least 21 times and you complete the 30 day test.  What is the 30 day test?  It is an exercise that will help you to change the way you think!

Go, Go, Go…
