Anger

Guilt says “I owe you”, Anger says, “You owe me”.  Andy Stanley

Through the years I have heard many definitions pop up about anger, it is “fear” is the big one.  Yet through all of the years I have never heard it expressed the way Andy Stanley does in his book, “It Came From Within! The Shocking Truth of What Lurks in the Heart”.

I read the book a year or so ago and thought wow what a good book.  I honestly did not know who Andy Stanley was or is but the book was impact-full.  About a week or so ago I was sharing with someone about heart issues, the stuff that comes from within and I suggested they read the book.  The very next thought I had was maybe I should re-read it as well.

The recovered life requires an honest look at ourselves on a daily basis.  Of course as we slip into “Stinkin-Thinkin” we sometimes are not aware that we have regressed a bit.  However, if we stay on top of our spiritual condition the truth will emerge.  I do not like to call recovery “work” for a specific reason, it is life and life requires effort.  The idea that recovery is work scares the newcomer.  But, the truth is that we need to remain diligent in our lives.  We need to put the effort in to become better human beings.  We need to grow in our emotional, mental and spiritual lives.   When I read books of this nature I realize how far I have grown yet I realize there is more to do.

Life is good and very much worth putting in the extra effort!

Go, Go, Go…
