“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on” – Robert Frost
For many years I carried a negative attitude of the belief that life goes on! Shite happens! Tomorrow is another day! I know a fellow that is famous for his response to “Good Morning” he responds, “What’s so damn good about it?” In recovery I began to take the whole concept of “one day at a time” to fit right into the same negative category. But I have learned that it is a hope filled “one day at a time”. It is a “Life is Gooooooood” “one day at a time”.
When things go wrong and we all know that they may, because nothing in life is perfect, we look with a hopeful heart to the future. We know that challenges are opportunities to change directions. To correct a miscalculation or a poor decision. There is a version of the Bible titled “The Message” it was written to capture the tone of the text and the original conversational feel of the Greek, in contemporary English. Galatians 6:9 says, “So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit”. Yes life is good. Most of us live our lives in an honorable way. We all want to be respected for who we are. We all want to succeed in our endeavors. To do so, we need to keep a positive attitude, have hope for the future and never, ever, ever give up!
Go, Go, Go…
