“All that is necessary to break the spell of inertia and frustration is this: Act as if it were impossible to fail.”
– Dorothea Brande
Too often, in fact it is more prevalent that an individual comes to us to begin their recovery journey that informs us that “They Just Can’t Do IT”. “Can’t do what?”, is my first response. As I listen to them explain how they simply can not stop using. They can not stop drinking. They can not simply give up their friends. The list goes on and on ad infinituDo Itm.
What they slowly find in a forward thinking recovery program is that they can in fact it is impossible to fail! Life is way too good to fail. The fact that they have begun the process is an indication that they want more than they have in their life. They want to be somebody special. They want peace of mind and happiness. When they realize that it is impossible to fail, well, they are endowed with a new spirit. A new happiness and outlook on life. Life is a joy and they suddenly realize “They Can DO IT”.
Peace,
Dan 🙂
